TechBiM x EUEW: Digital Transformation – New Opportunities for Electrical Wholesalers!

Writer: EUEWEUEW

Within EUEW, we have decided to introduce Initiative Multipliers as part of our new work programme. These initiatives are designed to facilitate best practice sharing, enabling members to exchange knowledge and gain inspiration to develop similar projects at a national level or foster collaboration between EUEW members.

Our Belgian federation member, Techlink (www.techlink.be) has kindly agreed to host a session on TechBiM (www.techbim.be) as part of this initiative. The aim is to provide insights into how Techlink, through TechBiM, is contributing to the further digitalisation of wholesalers in Belgium.

What is TechBiM x EUEW: Digital Transformation – New Opportunities for Electrical Wholesalers?

The construction industry is evolving rapidly, with digitalisation playing a crucial role in the future of project planning, execution, and asset management. In this digital era, electrical wholesalers must adapt to remain competitive, efficient, and indispensable within the supply chain.

But how can wholesalers strengthen their role in this increasingly digital world?

As you may know, BIM (Building Information Modelling) aims to provide a standardised digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of buildings and infrastructure. This allows all stakeholders—from design to execution and maintenance—to collaborate and communicate more efficiently.

BIM helps to improve:

  • Project coordination

  • Error reduction and cost savings

  • Optimised management of buildings and technical installations throughout their lifecycle

However, those new to BIM quickly realise that collaboration is impossible without standardisation. Implementing BIM requires seamless coordination with other stakeholders in the supply chain, leading to cost savings for all parties involved. Standardisation is the key to effective collaboration.

It is from this need that TechBiM was created. TechBiM standardises the design processes for all technical installations, creating an open ecosystem. This encourages earlier communication between stakeholders, enhances collaboration, and significantly reduces errors, making the entire process more efficient.

The mission of TechBiM is to enable collaboration in the digital (construction) world. By adopting a standardised approach and integrating structured product data into BIM workflows, TechBiM empowers wholesalers in Belgium to strengthen their role in the supply chain and respond more effectively to the digital needs of the construction industry.

Why Attend This Webinar?
