EUEW is happy to announce its new Secretary General

The European Union of Electrical Wholesalers is thrilled to announce that Mr. Koen Lauryssen has been appointed as the new Secretary General of the EUEW.

Koen Lauryssen, current EUEW Manager of Operation and future Secretary General

During the meeting of the Board of Directors on February 28th, Mr. Alexander Dewulf, EUEW President, proposed Mr. Lauryssen for the role of Secretary General to the EUEW Board of Directors. All board members present in the meeting welcomed the proposal and voted in favor of appointing Mr. Lauryssen as the new Secretary General of EUEW. Koen Lauryssen, currently EUEW Manager of Operations and Manager of the EUEW Bureau, will be taking over his new role once the mandate of Mr. Eric Piers will naturally come to an end during the second half of June 2023.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Eric Piers for his invaluable contribution to the EUEW Leadership during the past two years. The support of Mr. Piers was instrumental in setting up the new leadership structure of EUEW, in defining the new membership fee structure – to match the new ambitions of EUEW and in defining the main directions of advocacy along with Mr. Bernd Gruner and the Advocacy Working Group. Mr. Piers stepped in as EUEW Secretary General at a crucial time. He dedicated a lot of his already busy time to keeping the EUEW strong and well connected with members and peers through tough times, along with Mr. Dewulf and Mr. Lauryssen.

As EUEW Manager of Operations and Manager of the EUEW Bureau, Koen preferred to keep a low profile after taking over the position in 2020. He spent a lot of his time becoming familiar with the industry, with its current hot topics, with the leaders of the industry and of the ecosystem EUEW is a part of, and with the very specific interests of EUEW and its members. All with the end goal of having the EUEW Bureau offer the best possible support to the EUEW Leadership.

Given this new challenge offered by the EUEW, it is evident that his efforts have not been in vain, and all experience gained over the past years is now going to be put to very good use for the benefit of EUEW and its members.

We will be sharing more information about the new EUEW Secretary General soon, in this year’s edition of the EUEW magazine, The EDIT. Both Koen and the members of the EUEW Leadership are looking forward to this year’s EUEW Business Convention and to welcoming everyone in Rotterdam in less challenging times offering us all the possibility to enjoy our time spent there to the fullest.
