After the success of our recent Sectorial Meeting last June, coinciding with the celebration of our 30th anniversary, ADIME is now entering a new stage. A stage focused on clearly enhancing our value proposition—both for our members and for the entire sector—through a comprehensive strategic review.

Who We Are: Key Figures

  • ADIME (National Association of Electrical Material Distributors) was founded in 1995.

  • It brings together companies engaged in the storage and distribution of electrical material, electrical equipment, and electronic components.

  • Today, ADIME comprises around 105 member companies, operating nearly 900–1.200 sales outlets across Spain.

  • ADIME members account for a very significant share of the sector’s turnover and market coverage, more than 77%.

  • ADIME is the only organization that represents and defends the interests of electrical equipment distribution in Spain.

These figures highlight ADIME’s strong position, while also showing the need to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

The Strategic Reflection Process

During this year, we officially launched a strategic process with two clear objectives:

  • To define a differentiated value proposition for our members, and

  • To clarify ADIME’s role within the sector, in light of challenges such as sustainability, energy transition, digitalisation and IA, competition, evolving purchasing habits, regulatory changes, attraction of youth.

How we are working:

  • Regional and territorial meetings with members to identify local challenges and opportunities.

  • Group workshops to actively listen to members’ expectations and needs.

The process is set to conclude by the end of this year, with the new strategy to be rolled out in 2026.

Three Pillars of the Future Strategy

The emerging strategy is based on three key pillars:

Pillar

Main Focus

ADIME as the Voice of the Sector

Lobbying and institutional relations; building alliances with manufacturers, installers, regulators, and other associations; strengthening ADIME’s role as a recognised representative of the industry. ADIME as an active member of the sector's value chain, promotes relationships and alliances with installers and manufacturers to carry out initiatives and projects to promote the sector (you can give examples such as OREVE, market surveillance, Circular Economy, Electronet…)

ADIME as a Radar for Members

Monitoring and anticipating technological, regulatory, and market changes that significantly affect distribution companies. Ensuring that members are informed, prepared, and competitive.

ADIME as a Connector

Fostering collaboration among members; connecting with non-member distributors; strengthening ties with the media and key stakeholders; encouraging networking and joint projects.

Reinforcing Our Governance

A strong strategy requires a strong organisation. In parallel, ADIME is working on:

  • Strengthening the Board of Directors

  • Establishing Ambassador Committees, made up of volunteer members who advise ADIME’s staff.

  • Enhancing the role of the Annual General Assembly as a participatory and decision-making space.

  • Maintaining ADIME’s reputation as an independent, transparent, and exemplary association that seeks to improve the sector while always prioritising its members’ interests.

Why This Strategy Matters Now

Several trends underscore the urgency of our strategic shift:

  • 78.2% of Spanish installers still purchase through professional distribution.

  • E-commerce and digitalisation are growing, changing traditional sales channels.

  • Market concentration is accelerating, with large groups gaining share while many smaller outlets remain active.

  • New challenges—energy transition, sustainability, circular economy, and digital standardisation—are reshaping the sector.

ADIME has already responded by engaging in initiatives such as participating in UNE’s standardisation committees and the Circular Economy Committee, alongside AFME and AMBILAMP.

Looking Ahead: Objectives for 2026 and Beyond

  • To implement a fully operational strategy in 2026, supported by concrete projects and improved services.

  • To enhance existing services for members (information, training, networking, advisory support).

  • To develop new tools and services, particularly in digitalisation, technical data, and regulatory compliance.

  • To increase member participation in governance, ensuring services truly reflect their needs.

  • To raise the visibility of professional distribution in Spain and Europe, underlining its central role in the energy transition and in supporting the value chain.

Conclusion

ADIME is entering a decisive moment. We are no longer focused only on maintaining what we already do well; we are anticipating challenges, adapting our organisation, and innovating to remain relevant.

Our new member-centred strategy will not only strengthen individual companies but also ensure that the entire electrical distribution sector grows in a sustainable, resilient, and innovative way.
