On June 2nd and 3rd, the Spanish Association of Electrical Material Distributors (ADIME) celebrated the 30th anniversary of its founding, coinciding with its annual sector gathering. The event brought together manufacturers, representatives of other industry associations, and communication professionals for a collective reflection on the main challenges facing both the sector and the Spanish economy as a whole.

The celebrations began with a heartfelt tribute to ADIME’s former presidents, held at the iconic ABC Serrano building in Madrid. The ceremony, rich in symbolism, featured remarks from Antonio Garamendi, President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), whose presence and encouraging words were especially appreciated by attendees.
On Tuesday, June 3rd, ADIME held its Annual General Assembly, where the management report for the past year was presented, along with the association’s strategic priorities for the near future. Following the assembly, the annual meeting with representatives from manufacturers and industry associations took place. This session provided an overview of the sector’s economic situation in 2024 and outlined ADIME’s key communication initiatives.
A highlight of the event was a keynote speech by renowned economist José Carlos Díez, who delivered an insightful analysis of the current economic climate and macroeconomic outlook, with a particular focus on the impact of trade policies and China’s growing influence in global markets. In addition, we had the privilege of hearing from prominent entrepreneur José Elías, whose inspiring testimony resonated strongly with the audience.

The day concluded with a networking lunch at the event venue, offering attendees a valuable opportunity to strengthen professional relationships.
After two intense and rewarding days, ADIME is now engaged in a process of evaluation and reflection aimed at drawing key lessons to continue supporting our members effectively in an increasingly complex and competitive environment.
As a fitting conclusion, we travelled to Helsinki to join our colleagues at the EUEW event—an exceptionally well-organized international meeting that proved highly beneficial in advancing our shared goals at the European level.
