From 10 to 12 June, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) and CINEA organised the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), with this year’s edition focusing on the "Clean Industrial Deal" and the role of EU energy policy in delivering a clean, competitive and fair transition.

On this occasion, EuropeOn participated in two high-level sessions, bringing the voice of Europe’s electrical contractors into important discussions with policymakers and other stakeholders.

On 10 June, Federico Fucci, EuropeOn’s Policy Advisor, spoke at the session “People to power-up Europe: make the transition a reality with skilled workers.” This session offered an overview of employment trends and underlined the increasing demand for skilled professionals to support the energy transition. It also explored the efforts required to attract and train talent in the sector. Fittingly, the session took place on the International Day of the Electrician – a symbolic moment for Federico to highlight the essential contribution of electricians to advancing the energy transition.

On 11 June, Emma Elheim Karlsson, Vice-President of EuropeOn and CEO of the Swedish company Hallabro El, joined a high-level stakeholder dialogue on permitting procedures for renewable energy projects and related infrastructure, alongside Commissioner Dan Jørgensen. The session addressed the implementation of EU legislation aimed at speeding up and simplifying permitting processes. It also explored current challenges and looked ahead to future actions that could help accelerate the deployment of clean energy.
