Press Release: EUEW welcomes nearly 300 delegates at its 2019 General Convention in Brussels

Brussels, 24 April 2019 – The European Union of Electrical Wholesalers (EUEW) will welcome nearly 300 delegates and guests from 120+ leading electrical wholesaler and manufacturer companies across 21 European countries. The 64th edition of EUEW General Convention will bring together key representatives of peer organizations such as EuroCommerce, ETIM International, FEST and AIE, and members of the international press, over a course of two days 9–11 May. The convention will be hosted at Dolce La Hulpe Hotel, Brussels.



“Improve & Secure the value of your business” is the prime theme of EUEW’s 2019 General Convention. We have brought together world’s leading speakers and authorities to help outline our industry’s priorities and gauge trends and challenges for electrical wholesalers including opportunities of the circular economy, artificial intelligence, digitalization, China’s vision on leading innovation, and understanding the European anti-trust and competition laws. As the leading organization that represents nearly €41.5 billion in annual turnover by its 1,050 companies employing 103,000 people – we consciously chose Brussels as the destination for our 2019 General Convention to raise profile of our objectives, strategies and priorities at the European Union level.

EUEW’s General Convention’s guest speakers are Guy Wollaert, Matthias De Clercq, Pascal Coppens, Ian Heller, Maxim Kleine and Jan Janse. EUEW will host several panel discussions with the guest speakers and the electrical industry’s key leaders and influencers.



2019 General Convention will also mark the appointment of a new President for EUEW. Ulrich Liedtke, Executive Vice President of Würth Elektrogroßhandel GmbH & Co. KG will hand over the leadership baton, after two iconic years, to Alexander Dewulf, CEO at Cebeo Sonepar Belgium. The Presidential Ceremony will take place during the Gala Dinner on Friday evening at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts.


EDIT - The EUEW Magazine


EUEW will also launch a special magazine – EDIT – featuring special interviews with the global leaders and analysts of the electrical industry, profiles of the federation’s leaders and all the essential highlights of the Brussels General Convention.

EUEW is inviting all members of the media and online influencers to get in touch, should they wish to attend the Brussels General Convention or organize interviews with the new EUEW President or other leaders attending the convention.



2020 EUEW General Convention


EUEW will reveal further details of its 2020 General Convention in Barcelona. Save the dates 4 – 5 June 2020.
